Jennifer Ford (She/Her)
LCMHC, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Bio

Life can be unpredictable, overwhelming, and challenging at times. The changes and transitions we
experience in life may be met with obstacles and barriers that lead to feeling lost or unsure of how to
manage these new experiences. With so much going on in the world and our personal lives, it’s hard to
know where to turn or what to do. The good news is that there is help, and you are not alone.

Jennifer is a wife, mom, and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who is focused on helping
clients navigate life’s obstacles, while building the tools necessary to make lasting changes and improve
quality of life. Jennifer’s goal is to support and empower her clients by working collaboratively on the
path to healing and wellness. Jennifer has 11 years of clinical experience working with clients
throughout the lifespan. Jennifer received specialized training and is a certified perinatal mental health
counselor (PMH-C). With this specialized training she focuses on caring for adolescent girls and women
of all ages experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety, teen pregnancy, challenges with adoption,
birth trauma, pregnancy loss, challenges with body image and low self-esteem, navigating the transition
to motherhood, infertility, and family conflict. Her passion for working with mothers developed after her
own lived experience and as a survivor of birth trauma and postpartum depression and anxiety. Even as
a clinician with experience and medical knowledge, she found herself struggling to access care and
manage a completely unpredictable journey. Jennifer understands the importance of support during
pregnancy and the postpartum period and works to provide that support to others. She also addresses
challenges that may occur anywhere in the reproductive journey, including PCOS, endometriosis, and
perimenopause. Jennifer is well-versed in the chronic pain community, and she provides support to
those with chronic pain, chronic health illnesses, and complex medical conditions.

Jennifer’s approach is eclectic and includes modalities from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma
Focused therapy, and Mindfulness. Her approach to therapy is Person-Centered and strengths based.
She is also fully trained in EMDR and uses this therapeutic modality to help clients find relief from
symptoms of PTSD or traumatic memories. Additionally, Jennifer is a Board-Certified Christian Counselor
and is happy to provide Christian counseling and faith-based therapy to individuals seeking to
incorporate these values. Jennifer works to create a safe, warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space
where all your emotions are welcome. They are not too much for her, and you don’t have to walk this
journey alone. Jennifer feels that being a therapist is a privilege, and she’s honored to have the
opportunity to walk alongside her clients through some of life’s most difficult moments.

Jennifer understands that therapy can be a vulnerable experience, and she is committed to ensuring her
clients feel welcome, heard, validated, and understood. Jennifer is anti-racism allied, Healthy at Every
Size (HAES) allied, fat-liberation allied, neurodivergent affirming, disability affirming, and proudly
feminist. Wherever you are on your perinatal or reproductive journey, trying to conceive, grieving the
loss of a baby, navigating motherhood, first time mom, veteran mom of 6, Jennifer is there to hold space
for your needs. Or perhaps, you are a teen girl or woman just experiencing the stress of life, trying to
process traumatic experiences, struggling to adapt to changes and transitions, or just not feeling
yourself lately. The therapy space is there for you also. In the words of Glennon Doyle, “Be messy and
complicated and afraid and show up anyway”. If you’re ready to take the next step, Jennifer is ready to
meet you right where you are on your care journey.
