Claudia Greenholt (She/Her)
LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Bio
Hi, I’m Claudia!
I’m a trauma-informed Licensed Clinical Social Worker, based in Philadelphia. As a trained
social worker, my approach is informed by the systems approach, acknowledging the impacts of
culture, society, community, and relationships on personal identity and functioning. Rooted in
cultural humility, I am committed to anti-oppressive and trauma-informed therapy.
I seek to build a collaborative and compassionate relationship with you to create a meaningful
and values-driven life. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most profound healing tool we
have and practice from a relational framework. I believe that through our relationships, we learn
to express our emotions and needs, set limits, and advocate for ourselves, and the therapy room
is no different. I also integrate elements of internal family systems/parts-work, somatic therapy,
mindfulness, and motivational interviewing tools into my work. I believe most mental health
conditions are a reaction to our environment and a set of survival strategies to navigate harm on
an individual, relational, and societal level. We will seek to understand these defense reactions in
the context that they developed, build curiosity and understanding, and learn to show up in new
ways as you grow.
I believe therapy is a place to learn about and understand your emotions so that we can better
meet your needs and communicate them to others. I value autonomy in the therapy room which
means that I want you to let me know what you want from therapy. This also means each week
you will choose what we focus on in sessions. We will work together to bring curiosity and
compassion to your struggles and access your inherent capacity to heal and grow, moving
towards your authentic self.
I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community and young adults. I provide an affirming
space for all sexual and gender identities and expressions. I work well with folx struggling with
people-pleasing, perfectionism, mood disorders and anxiety/OCD, chronic illness, caregiving
roles, relationship difficulties, and family of origin concerns.
Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy cooking/baking, puzzling, crafting, the outdoors, and
running. I am happiest on a walking trail, with my wife, coffee in hand.
